When people are viewing our home without a REALTOR®, who has liability when we list with Bōde?

Self-represented buyers expect you to be home during showings. You can also require ID verification—just like Airbnb—for added peace of mind.

Hosting Self-Represented Buyers at Your Home

When people view your home without a REALTOR®, they are normally absolutely fine with you being there. In fact, they almost expect it — they don't expect to walk around your home unsupervised. It's also a great opportunity for them to ask questions and for you to highlight some of the key selling points of your home.

If you prefer, you can also choose to have buyers (who aren't working with realtors) ID-verified before their showing. If you choose this option, buyers will be asked to submit a copy of their passport or driver’s license before they're allowed to book a showing — just like platforms such as Airbnb require before making a reservation.

In the very unlikely event that anything goes wrong or gets stolen, it would be covered under your home insurance. This is also the case when you're working with a traditional REALTOR®.
