What happens if a condition can't be met by the deadline?

Sometimes, a condition can’t be met by the date outlined in the offer. In this case, the buyer can request an extension, but it’s entirely up to the seller’s discretion whether to grant it.

• Sellers can reject an extension request, knowing that doing so will void the offer.
• All extensions must be in writing and signed by both parties through an amendment to the original contract.

Note: Sellers can request the removal of other conditions in exchange for granting an extension.
For example, if the buyer wants more time for financing, the seller might ask them to waive the home inspection condition to avoid price renegotiation.
